Your dream wedding flowers

Before I can provide you a quote I need to know what you are looking for.

Imagine going to a restaurant and asking “how much will food cost?” Well, the steak is $80 and the garlic bread is $8. They are both food. It’s the same with flowers. I have another post where I discuss the ins and outs of this in greater detail, but for now let’s leave it at the one analogy.

I need to know what you are looking for to help me create a quote from the deliciously vast world of flowers. That being said, I don’t need to know every single detail. For an initial quote, here is what I would LOVE.

The date.

  • I need to make sure I’m even available to do your wedding!

  • Plus, different months = different flowers. Different flowers = different price.

The venue:

  • Chances are, I’ve been there and can visualise the best style for the space if you need recommendations.

  • I need to cost up any travel involved.

What kind of colours you want.

A list of floral items you want.

All of this can be changed down the road, just let me know.

Here is a run down of the typical basics:

People flowers (if applicable)

  • Bouquets and buttonholes are the starting point.

  • Common extras include flower crowns, wrist corsages, and flower girl petals.

Ceremony flowers (if applicable)

Cocktail hour flowers (if applicable)

  • This section is mostly applicable if you are having separate locations involved.

  • Many people opt to just have something nice on the bar and a few bud vases around the place

Reception flowers (If applicable)

  • This could be the longest list ever so I’ll try to keep it really minimal!

  • Are you interested in repurposing your ceremony florals to the reception?

  • Let me know about your tables. Do you think you’ll have around 10 (most sit 8 people), or are we looking at like 25. The table layout can matter too. Round tables, banquet tables, and long tables can all suit different style.

  • Tell me about your bridal table. Is it the full bridal party or just you two (aka sweetheart table). We can go really big here or keep it nice and simple.

  • Are there any spots that need some special attention? A patio, with couches and a coffee table, a beautiful fireplace mantelpiece, exposed beams we could drape foliage around, etc (though this is where costs creep up!)

  • Do you want flowers for your cake?

  • What about the bar?

That feels like a lot…

Don’t worry, even a fraction of that info is super helpful! This is just a guideline to get the creative juices flowing.
